Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
- CNC Programming & Operation:
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and cutting operations.
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and 4-axis milling machines, ensuring correct tooling and fixture setups.
- Interpret and analyse technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining parameters.
- Quality Assurance & Process Improvement:
- Conduct first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, and gauges).
- Adjust machine settings to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Identify and troubleshoot programming and machining issues to enhance efficiency.
- Maintenance & Safety Compliance:
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report any mechanical or operational issues to the maintenance team or management promptly.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with engineers, welders, and production staff to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings, program changes, and production runs.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and technical training programs.

- Experience working with welded components, diverse materials and hard layers
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Trade Certificate/Diploma in CNC Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CNC Operator & Programmer in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CNC programming using software such as Mastercam, EdgeCam, Fusion 360, or similar.
- Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skill
