Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

  1. CNC Programming & Operation:
  • Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and cutting operations.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and 4-axis milling machines, ensuring correct tooling and fixture setups.
  • Interpret and analyse technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining parameters.
  1. Quality Assurance & Process Improvement:
  • Conduct first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, and gauges).
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
  • Identify and troubleshoot programming and machining issues to enhance efficiency.
  1. Maintenance & Safety Compliance:
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report any mechanical or operational issues to the maintenance team or management promptly.
  1. Collaboration & Documentation:
  • Work closely with engineers, welders, and production staff to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of machine settings, program changes, and production runs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and technical training programs.

  • Experience working with welded components, diverse materials and hard layers
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Trade Certificate/Diploma in CNC Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CNC Operator & Programmer in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in CNC programming using software such as Mastercam, EdgeCam, Fusion 360, or similar.
    • Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CAD/CAM software.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skill
