Job Description

The Marketing Generalist works closely with other team members to coordinate marketing projects and assist in driving the overall marketing strategy. The role requires versatility and the ability to manage multiple tasks across digital and traditional marketing platforms.

Duties & Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ROLE

  • Campaign Management

Assist in the creation, execution, and monitoring of marketing campaigns (digital, social media, print, and events) to ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Content Development

Collaborate with the content team to create and distribute engaging content across various channels, including blogs, social media posts, newsletters, and email campaigns.

  • Digital Marketing

Support the execution of digital marketing strategies, including SEO/SEM, paid advertising, and social media marketing to drive traffic and conversions.

  • Market Research

Conduct research on market trends, competitors, and consumer behaviour to inform marketing strategies and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Brand Management

Ensure consistent use of the brand’s voice, tone, and visual identity across all marketing materials.

  • Event Coordination

Assist with the planning and execution of marketing events, webinars, and trade shows, ensuring all logistical aspects are covered.

  • Analytics and Reporting

Track and analyse the performance of marketing campaigns, using tools such as Google Analytics and social media insights to report on ROI and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

  • Collaboration

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and customer service, to ensure that marketing initiatives support business objectives.

  • Vendor Coordination

Liaise with external vendors (graphic designers, printers, agencies) to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of marketing materials.

  • Budget Management

Assist in managing the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for campaign success.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in a similar marketing role, preferably in a generalist or senior capacity.
  • Proven experience in executing digital and traditional marketing campaigns.
  • Familiarity with marketing tools such as Google Analytics, CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and social media management tools.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is advantageous.
  • Experience in B2B and/or B2C marketing is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating marketing events or campaigns from concept to completion.
